In a reverse bang, the art comes first.

Artists will illustrate Kirk and Spock on shore leave. We’ll anonymously show that art to authors who will let us know which pieces inspire them!

Through some space magic (it’s actually an algorithm), we’ll pair authors and artists into teams. Authors will write fics based on their assigned art, and teams will post together at the end of the event.

It’s the T’hy’la Bang in reverse!

t’hy’la (noun) ****a Vulcan word that can mean friend, brother, or lover

The Vulcan word t’hy’la was coined by Gene Roddenberry in the 1979 Motion Picture novelization. Spock used it to describe his relationship to Kirk.

The novelization’s footnote defines t’hy’la to be the closet Vulcan approximation to our word “friend” and can also mean brother or lover.

(We have no idea how to pronounce it.)
