Signing up for a bang is a commitment. To be transparent, we have a detailed breakdown of how we handle penalties. It’s rare that these come into play, but we want you to be aware of them.
Dropping out after being matched with a partner costs the challenge a lot of time and potentially strands your partner. Plus it can hurt feelings. Paired participants should only drop out post-claims for absolute emergencies.
The mods’ decision regarding penalties is final.

Do not use the regular channels to announce that you’re withdrawing, especially if we are past match-ups. This can hurt feelings and damage morale.
Depending on where we are in the bang schedule, withdrawing may come with a penalty. Please see below.
If you withdraw from the challenge prior to the start of the claims process, there is no penalty.
