The Rules

Do one of the following three:

1: Make a fanwork that includes at least one element you’ve been reluctant to try because of public opinion.

2: Make a fanwork in direct response to someone claiming you can’t do something.

3: Invent an adversary and make a fanwork to spite them!

Everything else:

This is a server-exclusive event. Only server members may participate. This is for muse’s sanity.
We do not offer a way for someone to informally participate in this or any other server event. If you use server resources, including the mods’ time, you are considered a participant and subject to event rules.
You may post at any time during the event timeframe. It runs for two months.
As always, all fandoms and ships are welcome. If you want to spite someone with an original work, go for it.
You may cross-submit to these ficwip events:
- drabble challenge
- 3-sentence fics
- All-Ships Ship Week
Please do not cross-submit to any other organized events.
There are no minimums, maximums, or content restrictions. Spite freely.
For this fest, you can finish an existing WIP (even if it’s published) if it falls within the event rules.
Positively no generative AI, which you already know.
Spite as many times as you want! However, we can only award one legacy icon per person. (Discord limitation.)
Sharing your work in public is 100% optional. You don’t even have to share it on the server. Just let us know SPITE ACCOMPLISHED! while the event is running and you’ll earn your legacy icon.
For this event only, fics do not need to be complete when posted, with some exceptions:
- If you’re finishing a posted WIP for the event, it must be finished within the event’s time frame.
- If your fic is cross-posting to All-Ships Week, which requires complete works, the final chapter must be posted during All-Ships Week itself.
- If your fic is under 5,000 words, please plan to finish it within the event time frame.
All fest works posted to AO3 are expected to be added to the collection for the life of the work. This helps people find us and also acknowledges the event and the staff that runs it.
