We are looking for new fanfics & original fiction that incorporate elements from fairytales and folklore. Re-imagine a classic tale using your favorite characters and OCs, or create a brand new story using elements typical to the fairytale genre!

This two-tier bang is designed to encourage long-form works of fiction, with options for novelettes and novellas—or longer! Authors will be paired with artists who will illustrate their stories, and teams will post together in July.

Sign Up

Sign ups will officially open in January 2025, but you can get started early! Just be sure not to discuss what you’re working on in any public or semi-public spaces. Bang channels will be available after sign-ups open.

Authors, you will declare your concept at sign-up, so please give it some thought before you join!

Event Rules

General Rules & Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old on the day you sign up
• You must be eligible for ficwip’s collaborative events in order to join the server and participate.
  • You may not join if you have been previously kicked from the server.
  • You must not have been dropped from the anthology or other ficwip collaborative events for failure to check in.
  • You may not owe outstanding gifts from our server exchanges or giveaways. If you haven’t fulfilled a prior obligation, please prioritize it.
  • Our event family includes the T’hy’la Bang and the Night Pool series, and honors any standing penalties from events either member of our team has hosted, as well as server bans.
• This event will be hosted on the ficwip discord, a friendly, year-round, all-fandoms event space! Server membership is required for the duration of the bang, and all bang communication will occur there. You’ll need to check the server occasionally and keep your notifications on. We’re not able to accommodate email-only or other methods of participation.
• You don’t need prior bang experience to join. We’ve run a lot of these and will happily guide you through the process!
• You must have the basic skills and tools to make what you sign up to create, including an AO3 account if you are a writer. (We have extra invites if you need one!) We’re not able to provide training, education, or individualized work plans.
