Inventing off-beat crack ships & talking each other into them since November 2022. Now in event form!

The Rules

The crack ship must be made up of at least two characters from separate, unrelated media.
Let’s really make this hard: They may not share a franchise, even if they have never met in canon or are from different time periods! (No, not even the MCU. Yes, we know how big it is.)
If you’re working with an OT3, OT4, etc. all characters involved must be from separate media/franchises. The crack-ier, the better!
Crack friendships are also welcome as long as the friendship is the focus of the work. (e.g. Bucky Barnes being assassin BFFs with Blue the velociraptor from Jurassic World)
For this round, we aren’t requiring ship exclusivity. Multiple people can write for the same crack ship.
RPF is allowed! However, since real people share the same world, only ONE PERSON per ship may be an actual person.
The ship can’t be one you’ve previously created for and published (e.g. fic, drabble, art). If you HAVE worked with the ship before and published the resulting work, pick a new ship. If you have worked with the ship but not published anything, you can use it for this event.
Whatever you make, the goal is to convince anyone engaging with it that your crack ship is OTP worthy. Really sell it!
You can do anything you need to make the ship work: de-age, age up, time travel, merge universes, handwave the heck out of things, or just have them meet in a coffee shop—whatever you want!
There is no word count minimum or maximum for fics
We’d love to have it in the AO3 and/or Squidge collections, but if it’s just too special to be appreciated by the world, you can share it privately with the server.
