Create a crossover or fusion fanwork using at least two unrelated pieces of media. If you aren’t sure what those terms mean, please follow the links for the Fanlore definitions. Understanding how these AU types work and how to use them is your responsibility.
The crossover must be fundamental to the work. This is really important! In fic, it isn’t enough to have characters from Media A having lunch together while a character from Media B walks past. If you could remove Media B characters from the mix without changing the story, go back to the drawing board.
The crossover itself must be new for you as a creator. If it’s one you have used before, pick another. Branch out. Try something new. We don’t care if it was a throwaway doodle on a bar napkin 10 years ago, pick something else.
All fanwork types are allowed as long as the individual pieces of media can be identified in the resulting fanwork by the reader / viewer / listener.
Bonus points* if you can creatively smash the names together (e.g. Star Wario Bros).
Media may not share a franchise. Sorry, MCU + DC. We know you’re large.
X-Men and Deadpool: No! They canonically co-exist
Deadpool and Voltron: Cracky. Chaotic. Go for it.
What you make for this event should be brand new. It’s okay to dust off a WIP on your computer, but the work should not have been publicly shared or posted in whole or part.
You can create multiple works for this fest, but you can only earn one legacy icon. Discord’s limitation, not ours!
