TFTHY is an ongoing challenge to finish those projects that won’t leave us alone but that, for some reason, we keep putting off. Maybe it’s a new fandom, a different ship, an unfamiliar genre, or an unhappy ending. Whatever keeps you from finishing, if you want to push through that, join us. TFTHY runs year-round and has monthly check-ins via an Airtable form.

This is a private event for our discord community.

How it works

• Pick something you want to finish (e.g. write a first draft, finish rewrites, write and post a fic)
• Decide a target date to finish it (e.g. by this fall)
• Opt into the The Fic That Haunts You role in #choose-your-roles (scroll down to Server Events) so that you can post to the channel and receive reminders.
• Add your work to the project list in Airtable. The link is pinned in #the-fic-that-haunts-you. You can also share in the channel what you’re planning to work on.
• If you okay it, your project will be displayed on our open projects gallery (only accessible via the server) for an extra dose of accountability.
• We recommend keeping your own progress log. We have a few templates below!
• On the first of every month, we’ll @ all TFTHY participants and ask you to check in via an Airtable form. If you don’t check in within a week, we’ll mark your project on hiatus and remove it from the open projects list. We’ll also remove your reminder role so we don’t bug you.
• If your project is put on hiatus, let us know when you’re ready to resume and we’ll put it back on the list.
• When you reach your goal, mark your project complete by submitting a form. The link is pinned in #the-fic-that-haunts-you. You can remove your reminder role or add a new project to the list.

There is no obligation to share what you are working on with anyone other than the mods, and there is no obligation to share your work once you are finished. You are welcome to keep your project completely private.

If you do post the finished work to AO3, you’re welcome to add it to our collection TFTHY. You might want to let muse know you’ve done this so she can approve it a bit faster.
