The T’hy’la Bang is a scaled-down version of a big bang (traditionally a 50,000 word challenge that originated in the Harry Potter fandom), in which authors have a set amount of time to write a fic of specified minimum length, which is then claimed by an artist who will illustrate one or more scenes from the story.

These mandatory checkpoints let us know how you’re doing.

We’ll email a link to each check-in form several days before each is due and also post them on Discord. If you fail to check in, we’ll make an attempt to reach you. If we still don’t hear from you, we’ll assume you have withdrawn.

If you have trouble remembering things like check-in dates, join our Discord! You’ll get faster, more frequent reminders for your specific roles in the challenge.

What’s required at check-in?

Some check-in points require you to submit a draft. We’ll specify what we need in each email and on the submission form.
